MCT September Release Sneak Peek Day 3 ~ Grateful!

Happy Wednesday and Day 3 of My Creative Time September Release Sneak Peeks!  Yesterday I shared spooky treat and card, today is all about a grateful, happy heart!
I think fall is my favorite time of year.  I tend to gravitate towards all the warm colors and fashion...not that I'm a fashionista by any means :)  I just love all that fall brings!!!

So my project today reflects my love for fall...

For my PL cards, I stamped a sentiment on top of pattern paper that already looked layered...this saves so much time and bulk.  Oh, don't you just love the new leaf dies!!!  Simply stunning!

The handwritten word dies are to die for too!

MCT September Sneak Peek Day 2 ~ Spooky!

Good morning, today is My Creative Time September Release Day 2 Sneak Peeks!  You are going to LOVE today's sneaks!  I know you are going to want to have both of the sets that we are featuring today!!!  It's almost that spooky, scary time of the year.  To get you in the mood I have a couple of projects to share with you.

This treat bag and tag was super quick to make!  After stamping the background on the tag, I swooshed Wink of Stella over the whole thing.  It's hard to for the camera to pick up, however it's noticeable in person. :)

For this card I stamped the sentiment on the card base then covered it with the vellum.  Then stamped the spider on top of the vellum and added a bit of glossy accents.

If you look closely, you can see the stitching on the vellum from one of the new dies!

MCT Thrifty Thursday ~ Big Girl!

Hey it's Thrifty Thursday at My Creative Time!  For me this is a great way to use those die cuts that I thought were not usable when I first cut them.  This is exactly why I never throw anything away!  Ok, lets face it...I'm a HOARDER!  lol!

I pulled out a few different things from my die cut jar, looked at them and choose a couple of items.

And this is what I came up with :)

I was able to mask off the "it's a" in order to stamp "girl!" by it's self.  Just another way to make your stamps go farther!  :)

MCT Scrapping The Little Things ~ You & Me!

Happy Monday!  Today is Scrapping The Little Things at My Creative Time.  I don't know about you, but I love using a sketch for inspiration.  Also when choosing a sketch, don't get thrown off if it's for a card.  You can always use it for a layout.  Or even the other way around.

I used this sketch for the larger pocket card, except I chose to use stars instead of circles.  Remember the sketches are for inspiration, so it doesn't have to be exact.

I thought it would fun to cut the bicycle in half for the two cards.  I have left room on both cards for either pictures or journaling.  On the second card, I die cut the "&" about 5 times and glued together.  Then added glossy accents on top.  It's such a cool look in person!

Again on the large card I left space for a picture.

PKS Photo/Color/Sketche Challenge ~ Boo!

Hello, peachy friends!  It's time again for a color, photo, sketch challenge with Peachy Keen Stamps!  I love the PKS challenge since you have the choice to use any part for inspiration.  I've used all three, however you don't have to.  You can pick one part of it or all of it!!!!

Isn't this what being creative is all about!

I LOVE Halloween, but not in the over the top trying to scare someone in to having a heart attack.  Just the goofy, fun, and spooky kind of Halloween!  That's why I love the porch in the photo, it was the inspiration for the broken fence, even though the porch is in pristine condition. :)

It's super cool how you can mix and match so many PKS sets, even with some that are older.  Like the new pumpkin with the Make a Monster Face assortment set.

PKS Change Up Your Stamps ~ Need a hug?

Hi crafty friends!
Today I've taken over the Peachy Keen Blog with a tutorial!  Now before I start I want you to know that I'm not an expert in Copics or stamping.  However I recently took a stamping class that helped me to look at my stamp collection differently!  To really be creative with them.

Also in the class I realized that I've become partial to one layer cards, or with just a bit popped up.  Rest assured, if you've been following for any length of time then you know that I LOVE a layered card, I will continue to make them! :)

Oh, and the inside sentiment is too funny!  Kathy's humor cracks my up!

The Supplies!

I first used VersaMark and Glitter Black embossing powder to create the outline of Mr. Cranky.

Then heat set it.

Next I used black memento ink for the face.

Once everything had cooled, I used copic markers to color him.

After I completed the coloring, I fussy cut Mr. Cranky.

Of course I needed him to come alive, so I added some glossy accents to his one eye..."He's Alive"!  :)  Set aside to let him dry!

For the background I wanted the look of different pattern paper yet only use one layer.  So I taped off the area that I didn't want to be stamped.

Then I inked the edges of the stamp.

Next I carefully removed the tape and stamped my card base.  This card is folded in half.

As you can see it's a bit askew, but I'll fix that shortly.

With another pattern stamp, I did the same thing with the tape.

Again I inked it up.

Removed the tape and stamped the image.

You can see that there a bit of a gap between the images.  Now I'm going to fix it being crooked and the gap

.I taped off so the part that was crooked and missing is now straight.  I'm using a wide painters tape and didn't want to waste to much so I tore it in half lengthwise and used the straight edge to create the space to be embossed.  I'm all about using what you have.  :)

You can see where I added the silver tinsel embossing powder.

After I embossed a few purple bats, I added some pop dots to Mr. Cranky!

Isn't he FUN!

Extras
Papertrey Ink Cardstock
Xpress It Blending Cardstock
Copic Markers
Embossing Powders, silver tinsel, purple

Glossy Accents

Like I said, I'm not an expert at either copic markers or stamping, however I hope this gives you the courage to be creative and try something you haven't done before...whether this or something else!

Have a beautifully creative day!
