I also wanted to share with you, that I received two Blog Awards!  One is from Stacey at Staceys Creative Corner  however I went to her blog and I couldn't find it.  I think her post were deleted when blogger went down.  I'm only letting you know about it, because I don't want her to think I ignored her!  The other one is from my SWEET Friend Sandy at Sandy from Ukiah.  I had the honor of meeting her in person at Emma's home several months ago!  She is amazing and talented too!

So the rules are to tell 8 things about myself...hmmm, what could I tell you that you don't already know about me...
1.  I have been married to the most supportive man for 25 years this summer.
2.  I have expensive taste, yet I will always try to get the same look or item for less.
3.  My mind is always swirling with ideas, but there is never enough time to get them done.
4.  My favorite day is Sunday, spending time with family and friends in worship.
5.  I love to camp as long as there are flushing toilets and showers!!!
6.  I love the ocean ~ am very jealous of my daughter, who lives 14 blocks from the beach and rarely goes!
7.  Will drop anything I'm doing if my husband or brother in law says "let's go to Disneyland"! (Sandy it is the happiest place on earth, especially when your childern are grown!  hehehe)
8.  My husband and I are trying to plan a 4-6 week road trip in the next couple of years...to be continued!

Now I'm suppose to give this away to 15 bloggers...this is so hard, oh my goodness this hard because I follow (love) so many of you!

Enjoy!

***Big Problem,  I updated my computer today and now all my writing programs (email, word , blogger) are not working properly!  Basically I have a hand instead of a cursor and it doesn't let you do anything like cut & paste, etc... I know it a setting that needs to be corrected, but don't know where!  If you have any ideas, please let me know***

Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time with Emma

Hi Everyone!

I see that I have some new followers...thank you!  I hope that I'm able to keep you interested in coming back!  I would love to be able to see your blog too, so leave me a comment with your blog, so I can take a peak!  I have so much going on in my life right now, a few challenges that I'd like to do.  Have to finish 50 baby shower invitations by Sunday.  Graduation parties!  Oh and the biggest news of all  my oldest daughter is graduating from UCSD in a week...so that means a trip to San Diego...oh the things we do for our children...travel to a great place where the weather is usually perfect! ;o)  Oh wait I have bigger news...she had decided to stay there, so I don't have to give up my "paper loft"!  I'm grateful that the hard work I put in as a mother has paid off and I have an independant daughter, who wants to try to make it on her own even though she still has to get her Master's to get her "real job"!

Ok enough of my life... Emma at My Creative Time is having a challenge called "Throwback Thursday"  this weeks theme is using Animal Kingdom cartridge (if you don't have it, then it just has to be an animal).  I don't have that cart so I used Doodlecharms for the animal and shell and Stretch your Imagination for the leaves.

Recipe:

Cricut Cartridges: Doodlecharms, Stretch your Imagination
Paper:  Bazzill, Making Memoriest
Punches: Stampin Up, Martha Stewart
Stickles, Frost White Ink Paint, Silver Cord, pop dots

Enjoy!

Mother's Day Card! It's sooner than you think!

Good Morning!

I just want to do a quick post before I head to work!  At the bottom of my blog I have a list of blogs for "blog hopping".  If you want more traffic, add your blog site to it!  Your site will go out to everyone listed, I have found some really talented people!

Well any who...while blog hopping myself, I came across this blog, Scrap Collector and saw this amazing wall hanging!  As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect Mother's Day card for my step-mom.  So...yes the design is completely "lifted"!  Go check out her blog, she has other amazing designs, she adds tons of details!

(sorry about the lighting, very overcast morning, bad angle too!  it's much taller looking in person!)

Made the card using Design Studio

Recipe:
Cricut cartridge: Forever Young, Doodlecharms
Paper: DCWV, Martha Stewart, Stampin Up, unknown
Punch: EK Success
rhinestones, pearls, ribbon, doilie, stickles (on the doilie & the heart), button and pop dots

I hope you enjoy!

Sweet Sunday Sketch SSSC 64 and Stacey's Curtain Call Act 25 Challenges

Good Morning!

Thought I would post before I had to leave for work!  After 3 days of STORMY weather, it looks like today is going to be a nice spring day!

Finally a color combo I like!  The last color challenge was really difficult, because I didn't care for them.  It's kind of funny, it must be because I'm not eatting junk, but...when I saw the colors at Stacey's blog...all I could think of was an orange-cicle...I never even eat them!

The sketch is from The Sweetest Sunday Sketch Challenge SSSC64 and Stacey's Curtain Call Act 25

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridge: Doodlecharms
Paper: Stampin Up and Martha Stewart
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots
Stamp: Stampin Up
Punch: EKSuccess
Ribbon: Michael's
Stickles

I hope you have a creative day!

Card for a little friend!

I made this card on Sunday.  A little friend of mine came home from church to find her bird had died.  When I gave her the card, her face lit up (she's only 11) and she gave me a big hug!  It's so hard to loose a pet...

My first try with Design Studio

I know, I know...I should be trying the Gypsy, but sometimes I'm a late bloomer!  I thought about getting the Gypsy, when I first saw it last fall before it was released.  However, I don't alway use things I buy, so I thought I would try DS for alot less money.  I got it a couple of months ago, I kept playing with the program, but wasn't quite getting it.  So today I was determined to do something simply and get it cut.  I watched a couple of videos from http://capadiadesigns.blogspot.com/ . Wow! She explains it really simple!  So this is my 1st try a really simply card from Doodlecharms and Lyrical Letters carts.

Strange thing...when I went to cut, the ice cream and layer that came from Doodlecharms and the "enjoy"  from Lyrical Letters.  The program only asked me for Lyrical Letters cart to be in the Cricut.  It never asked for Doodlecharms to be in, yet it still cut it.  I don't have a jukebox, either.  I didn't have time to make anything else with a cart I have and don't have mixed up to see if it would still cut.  Maybe next time.  Let me know if you know why this happened or if this is just the way it works.

Have a great rest of the day!
