MCT Tutorial Thursday ~ happy birthday!

Happy Thursday, today is Tutorial Thursday over at My Creative Time.  This is where we "try" to share a technique with you.  I say try because sometimes it's hard to explain a technique...hopefully I'll be able to!  :)

The technique I'm going to share with you is masking and no line watercoloring.

First of all I wanted the sentiment to intruped the image.
So I first stamped the sentiment on the die cut rectangle and masking paper.

Then I cut out the sentiment on the masking paper.

Next I placed the sentiment mask over the stamped sentiment.

Once I determined which flower is the front flower, that will be the first flower stamped.  I stamped the flower over the sentiment masking, also stamping  same flower on masking paper.  I used Distress Ink in a very light color so I could barely see it.

After I cut out the flower from the masking paper I placed over the stamped flower on the rectangle. Then I chose which flower would be behind the front flower and stamped it.

I repeated the same process as the sentiment and the flower image for the existing flowers.

Once all the stamping was completed I was left with image of flowers behind each other.

The next thing to do was choose the colors of distress inks and smooch them on my palette.  With watered down ink I painted each petal individually and not next to each other until they were dry.  I added another layer of paint to each petal for more depth.  I made sure that each layer was dry before adding more.

My Creative Time and Original Gourmet Lollipop ~ yummy!

GOOD MORNING & welcome to our collaboration with the FABULOUS “Original Gourmet Lollipop” company! We are ALL super excited to partner up with this company because they truly do have the BEST lollipops around! Many of you are familiar with our famous “Stitched Lollipop Holder Dies” which fit the famous OG lollipops PERFECTLY! Well, we just discovered the “mini” OG lollipops! We LOVED them so much that Emma designed a brand new “Mini Stitched Lollipop Die”. This new die fits the mini OG lollipops to PERFECTION! Join us as we showcase BOTH sizes of these dies so you can see the difference!

I only have the Original Stitched Lollipop die to share with you, however the rest of the
team will have both.  I just have to say that I had a hard time not eating these before I could get the pictures!  Oh my the Pumpkin Spice Latte was caaaaaalling me!  :)

To create the black holder, I first heat embossed it with white. Then I pieced the witches feet together and added glossy accents. Next I attached the purple "dress" tulle.

For the white holder, I cut my strip of stamps, yes I cut my stamps,
and cringed the whole time.  But I'm so happy I did!  I can always line them back in a row
if I ever want to use them that way again.  Then tied the stick with the orange tulle.  How much easier could it have been!

MCT Inspire Me ~ enjoy!

Today is Inspire Me Wednesday over at My Creative Time.  My card today was inspired by nature, a simple rainbow and the fact I just wanted to play with watercolors.  :)

Normally  I use watercolors with less pigment, but this time I wanted to try using it almost full strength.  I love how vivid the colors are.

MCT September Release Sneak Peek Day 4 ~ little doggie!

Hi, today is the last day of My Creative Time September sneak peeks!  Today I get to share
with you, All Is Calm stamp and die set!  As soon as I saw the dog die I knew this would be
perfect for a treat bag.  Yes, I do have doggie treats in it, lol!

To stamp and cut the wreath, I first cut out the wreath with scrap paper.  Then I place the negative of the scrap over the paper I wanted to use.  Next I laid the stamp in the negative space, then used my stamping block to "grab" the stamp.  By doing this I was guaranteed that the stamped image would fit properly when I die cut it.  I always stamp first then die cut, I'm rarely accurate with my stamping if I die cut first then stamp.
I used several color green markers directly on my stamp to create depth in the foliage.

MCT September Release Sneak Peek Day 1 ~ merry christmas!

Hi!  Can you believe it's already time for My Creative Time September release!
Boy, this year is flying by!!!

To create this card I stamped the image with Picket Fence ink, hit it with my heat tool for a second to ensure the embossing powder wouldn't stick.  Then I used a VersaMark pen to ink the stamp on the dots and stamped over the already stamped image.  I didn't worry if it was perfect since I was kind of going for the chalkboard look.  Then heat embossed the embossing powder.  This card could easily be massed produced for Christmas!

MCT Thoughtful Thursday ~ proud of you!

Hello, I hope your week is a happy one so far!  I've been super busy at work so trying
to find time to craft has been a bit difficult, but I've managed :)

Today is Thoughtful Thursday over at My Creative Time.  I like when I get scheduled for this segment, since it gives me a chance to get well needed cards made.

After I embossed the brick pattern paper, I did ink blending with washi tape to create the star burst.  I also heat embossed the sentiment on the black circle die cut.  For the sentiment I only used a portion of it.  Some people cut them, however I chose to mask the part I didn't want stamped.  This was really a fast card to make.

MCT Favorite Stamp/Die of the Month ~ wish big!

Hello, today is My Favorite Stamp/Die of the Month over at My Creative Time!  This little birthday set has many sentiments that are so fun.  Sentiments are a great way to create a "pattern paper"!  I never have enough birthday cards that are gender neutral, this technique is perfect for that.

I used the MISTI (if you don't have one, it's worth the investment!) to create the pattern paper.  I never would have been able to this so evenly with out it.  For the label I inlaid the "wish big".  This card is relatively flat, perfect for mailing.
