MCT March Release Blog Hop ~ blooming birthday!

Hey Hey Hey it's blog hop day for My Creative Time's March Release!  Didn't you just love all the projects the past two days from the design team?  I know I sure did!

Today I get to share with you Tulip Frame Die, but I just couldn't stop there.  I decided to create a gift card holder using both of the new frame dies.

First I cut the envelope the cut a square window from it and also from clear cardstock.  Next I stamped the sentiment through the window then glued the clear cardstock on the inside of the envelope.  After the glue had dried, I completed the assembly of the envelope.  The last thing I did was to cut the frames and do a bit of paper piecing to decorate the flowers and then attach to the outside of the envelope.  For the gift card portion I cut a rectangle then stamped flowers with VersaMark ink and added the die cut holder.

Creating two at the same time was quicker than I thought.  Now I have gift card holders ready to go when needed!

MCT March Release Sneak Peek Day 1 ~ get well!

Hello!  Today is Day 1 of My Creative Time's March Release Sneak Peeks!  Today we are featuring Tulip Frame Die and Springtime Smiles stamp set.  This frame die is so cute, it can be dressed up with lots of embellishing or kept simple.  I choose to do a simple silhouette.

On the background I did a watercolor "smoosh" effect.  Once dry I die cut the frame from the watercolor background and black cardstock.  This how I created the inlay look.

MCT November Release Sneak Peeks ~ brew-utiful!

Hello, today is day 2 of My Creative Time's November Release Sneak Peeks!  I get to share with you the new set Just Brew It!  This is a super cute set for of puns and images for all your coffee needs.

I had some fun creating the background pattern panel with all the bits in the set, and coloring the "frap" with copic markers.

MCT Weird Holiday ~ hello!

Welcome to My Creative Time's Weird Holidays!  I chose to celebrate World Hello Day, which is November 21.  Some of the weird holidays that are out there are just that...WEIRD!  However this holiday is a great one :)

For the background panel I taped off a rectangle and stamped the water strips with the MISTI.  Then simply die cutting the rest and stamping the sentiment and this card is complete.

I used modeling paste with a drop or so of Tim Holtz reinker to tint it a pale blue with the darling stencil.  Once it was dry I added the diecut pieces and stamped the sentiment.

MCT Too Die For ~ baby!

Today is My Creative Time's Too Die For!  I know I've said before but this is one of my favorites because I usually get two cards done at the sametime. Very efficient!  :)

I simply ink blended on the background panel of the first card then die cut "baby" out.  (tip: put copy paper between ink blended side and cutting plates, so ink doesn't transfer and ruin another project later...lesson learned on my part).  Add "baby" to another card base.  Stamp both cards with stars.  A little copic coloring and it's complete!

MCT Thoughtful Thursday ~ my thoughts are with you!

Hello, today is Thoughtful Thursday at My Creative Time.  I created a card that none of us really like to create...a sympathy card.  Like masculine cards, sympathy card can be difficult to do.  I really try to not make them to ornate.

For the background I stamped first with one color, then for the next color I went slightly over the first color and did the same for the next color.  Just as if I were ink blending, but with a stamp.  Using my Misti I was able to stamp the purple flower (I know it looks black) several times to get a crisp, solid flower.

MCT Too Die For ~ hb!

Happy Tuesday to you!  Today is Too Die For over at My Creative Time, this where we show different ways to get more use out of your dies.

To create this card I first die cut the "H and B", then with the Misti I was able to stamp the "happy birthday" in a repeat pattern.  Now had I been thinking ahead, I should have stamped first, then die cut the letters and used the "H and B" on another card...then I would have had two cards completed at the same time.  :)  I use foam tape to pop up the white panel and added some enamel dots.

For the background on the pumpkin paper I used the Get Schooled paper stamp for a bit more interest.  Next I randomly stamped the leaf layers then added Nuvo drops in different colors.

MCT 3D Wednesday ~ birthday greetings!

Hi!  Today is 3D Wednesday over at My Creative Time! 

 I made a sweet little birthday gift bag that's perfect for any movie loving person in your life!  The great thing about Emma's dies is that they make creating fun little gifts quick and easy.

After die cutting the bag on white cardstock, I stamped the red stripes with a background stamp.  Sure I could of used pattern paper, but I didn't have a thin strip in red.
