MCT Manly Monday ~ wish big!

Howdy happy Monday to you!  Today is Manly Monday over at My Creative Time.  I never have enough of these so I'm always happy when I'm assigned to create one :)

As funny as this might sound, this card was inspired by my kitchen redo.  I have been stripping paint off my cabinet doors (30 of them) so I can repaint them (they were chipping and peeling).  As the paint was being stripped off I was left with wood grain doors, kind of like the "wood" rectangle.  

To create the "wood" box I taped off with post it tape and inked the wood stencil, then with a darker brown distress ink I add a bit of shading.  For the Sentiment Label die, I made it longer to fit my die cut sentiment.

MCT Do Over ~ newlyweds!

Hello, today is "Do Over" at My Creative Time.  Now I'm sure you think a "do over" means you got it wrong the first time, no true.  To me a "do over" gives me chance to do something similar but with a different technique.  That's what I did today!

The first card I made last December and I LOVED it, however I've been practicing with different techniques of distress inks and blending on different papers.  

So I decided to heat emboss the dots and blend distress inks instead of the dry embossing like the card above.  I also used  Tim Holtz Specialty Paper which is very smooth which makes blending a breeze,  For the heart after I heat embossed it, I smooshed the water color for a marble look.

MCT June Release Blog Hop ~ hi!

Well we finally made it the hop!  Welcome to My Creative Time June Release Blog Hop, you should have arrived here from the talented Miss Kim.  If you just popped in to see me, then be sure to head to the start at Miss Emma (our fearless leader).  

First I dry embossed the Rectangular die on my card base.  Then after I heat embossed the sentiment on the label, I scored it instead of cutting it off at the top.  Then I folded it over the card, so the back a bit of interest.

MCT June Release Sneak Peek Day 3 ~ heart of gold!

Hi, well we are half way through the My Creative Time sneaky peeks, I sure have been blown away by all the creativity!  Today is all about the labels, the Sentiment Label Dies that is.  :)  This is one, actually I mean three fabulous dies with a "fish tail" on both sides.  I love that since it makes it more versatile!

I only used two of the sizes of this new die, and yes I did cut off the left side of two of them.  I'm a big fan of images being "interrupted".

MCT June Release Sneak Peek Day 2 ~ blessing!

Hello, so didn't you just love all the projects the team made yesterday.  Well if you love yesterday's then you'll flip for today's sets, You Are A Blessing and Fun Polka Dots!  I must be in an ink blending mood this week :)

I started by using several colors of distress ink to create the gradient background.  Next I heat embossed in white the solid and outlined circles.  Then I stamped the solid circles in distress ink.  I just love this effect!

MCT June Release Sneak Peek Day 1 ~ smile!

Hi, can you believe that it's already June and summer is in full swing?  I feel like it was just Christmas and I blinked and now summer.  I really just need to slow down!  Enough about me, let's get to why you're here...My Creative Time's newest release!  I've been patiently waiting for Miss Emma to release this set.  Sometime Emma let's us know an idea she has, but we don't actually get to see them until they are made...well I LOVE this new set You are Spot On stamp and die set!  Funny thing, I had so much fun with the dies I didn't even use the circle stamps...however I have a project later this week where I did :)

First thing I did was some ombre ink blending with several colors then die cut the circles.  Really fairly simple.  

I had a few extra ombre circles, just enough to create another card, but in black.
