MCT Tag It Tuesday ~ happy bird-day!

Happy Tuesday crafty peeps!  Today is Tag It Tuesday over at My Creative Time.  This is a fun feature where we get to create tags.  But you say "hey, that's a card" yep, you're right...but there is a tag on it!  hehehe 

I made this card for a friend of mine...I hope she receives it before she sees it here ;)

I set out to make a round tag, however as I was working it, this is what came out!  Sometimes that's what happens :)  I water colored  some paper then die cut the tag (that helps it not warp as much).

MCT Inspire Me Wednesday ~ think of you!

Howdy!  Today is Inspire Me Wednesday over at My Creative Time!  My card was inspired by wedding decor I found, and thought was beautiful.   You can click here to see my inspiration http://blog.hwtm.com/2013/07/pink-glittery-gold-disco-fairy-party/  :)

The sentiment is from a new set called "Tweet Me"  I did some masking to stack the sentiment to fit in location I want it.  After coloring with copics, I added a bit of wink of stella and glossy accents to the flower petals.

MCT March Release Sneak Peek Day 4 ~ merry!

MCT March Release Sneak Peek Day 3 ~ wishing you!

It's Day 3 of Sneak Peeks and we are half way through My Creative Time's March Release!  Wasn't yesterday FABULOUS!!!  Who am I kidding, everyday is fabulous! :0

Today I have a brand new stamp set and sort of a new die, Love You Bunches stamp and die sets and Jr. Rolled Flower Dies.  Now the new Jr. Rolled Flower Dies are two flower dies.  And yes it's just what you're thinking...they are "baby flowers" like the flower die we already have!  So now you'll have small, medium, and large flowers for all your crafty needs!

To create this card, I first watercolored with greens, yellows, and pale blue the background.  While waiting for it to dry I die cut the flowers and rolled them.  Of course I used both of the new sizes.  I love how no two are the same!  After adding gold thread, I adhered the flowers to create the bouquet.

  Once all the flowers were dry, I heat embossed the part of the sentiment, and the rest of the sentiment on the inside of the card.  Oh my I just realized I didn't take a picture of the inside :/  well it says "Happy Mother's Day".  The sentiment is from the Love You Bunches stamp and die set.

After it was all put together, I felt it was still lacking something.  So I carefully added the splatters of black and gold.  Lastly I added some drops of glossy accents to the background and the petals.

MCT March Release Sneak Peek Day 2 ~ hoppy easter!

Hey, Hey, Hey, it's Day 2 of My Creative Time's March Release Sneak Peeks!  So what did you think of yesterday's sneaks?  Amazing, right!  I love that we on the Design Team can create so differently with the same items...and then sometimes we are very similar! :) 

Today we are featuring Fun Stitched Tag Dies!  This set is going to be your "go to" set for banners and tags!  I'm not sure if I can express just how much I LOOOOVE this set!!!!

I do realize that today is St. Patrick's Day, and yes I should have probably made something 

with a bit of green.  Well, I just didn't think about it...

but I am having Corned Beef and Cabbage tonight for dinner!  YUM YUM!!

Okay now on to my project...this card was created with a few dies from the new set and some of my all time favorites.  That's the beauty of My Creative Time dies, the easily coordinate with older sets!

MCT March Release Sneak Peek Day 1 ~ happy birthday!

today is  My Creative Time March Release!  Can you believe it's that time again?

Boy, this year is flying by...

Welcome to Day 1 of Sneak Peeks!  We have a great week planned with new stamps and dies that you're gonna fall in love with!  There are brand new themed sets and some to coordinate with your favorites you already have in your arsenal. :)

Today we are featuring the Circle Stitch Pattern Die!  Let the creative come out and play with this new die!

The first thing I did was to use the die on watercolor paper.  Then I had some fun with distress inks, shine spray, and white chalk ink.  For the vellum "celebrate" I cut two and layered them.  It still has the softness of vellum, yet it can be read over the colorful background.

MCT Trending Now "Color Pop" ~ happy birthday!

Happy Thursday my crafty friends! 

 It's "Trending Now" over at My Creative Time today and we are showcasing "color pop" projects.  

For my project I created a card for a friend of mine, I'm hoping she isn't looking at my blog today :)

To create this card, I first stamped the script, then the flower all with the same color ink.  Then I "dry" water colored the petals of the flower and leaves.  What I mean by "dry" is I kept my brush not dripping wet, even though the color is diluted.  I did this so card base didn't get over saturated and warp.  If it got too wet, I blotted it with a paper towel.  Once it was dry, I softly went over the script to smudge it up a bit.  Then again once dry I added wink of stella to the petals and glossy accents to the center.  The wink of stella is showing up much stronger in the pictures then it is in person.

For "happy" I die cut it twice then added glossy accents.  Once the whole card was dry I added the POPS of Color...the pretty butterflies!

MCT Tag It Tuesday ~ hello!

Hello!  How's your week goin' so far?  Mine?  Just wonderful!  Today over at My Creative Time it's Tag It Tueday, and I wanted to try something a bit different...a tag on vellum.  In all the years of papercrafting I don't think I've created something where the base was vellum.  I could be totally wrong though :)

This won't work with all vellum, since most are too flimsy.  I used Papertrey Ink's vellum, it's super strong, yet still sheer.  I LOVE using it!

Being in California I know we haven't had that hard of a winter...in fact we are in our 2nd or 3rd year of a drought.  Water is always a big issue here, so they always cry "DROUGHT" even when it's just below the norm :/  However, I'm still looking forward to a true spring (we did have a warm weekend) so I came up with this fun tag.

On the white background square, I stamped a mix of "script" and "splats".  For the tree after stamping and putting it all together I thought it was lacking something...so out came the wink of stella shimmer.  Some type of sparkle always seems to finish it up for me. :)

On the green "doily"  I used the scallop circle die then hole punched the scallops.

MCT Designer Challenge ~ hello!

Wow, can you believe that it time for March's Designer Challenge over at My Creative Time!!!  

The time is flying by...at least for me it is.  Some days I just want it to slow down so I can just enjoy the moment.  As I say that I also am looking forward to spring and all that comes with it.  :) I find that to be the hard part...looking forward to something yet not missing what right in front of you.  Well that's enough of the ramblings going on in my head...lol!

Just like always, for the challenge you can choose to use the photo, the colors, the sketch, or any combination of them.

As you can see I chose to use all three :)

To create the background, I stamped the "grainy wood" then inked the edges.  In person it looked a bit dull so I added versamark ink over the whole piece then clear heat embossed it.  Wow, what a difference that made!
