MCT Inspire Me Wednesday ~ sweet wishes!

Good morning, today is Inspire Me Wednesday over at My Creative Time.  So what does that mean?  It means we are to create something that was inspired by anything.  My project was inspired simply by springtime...yep just that simple!

I used the negative of the bicycle I cut for a different project. Then I cut the different size rectangles and did a little bit of ink blending.  For the "sweet" I die cut several of them and glued together, then covered in glossy accents.  A few glossy accents and sequins and it was complete.

MCT April Release Sneak Peek Day 3 ~ you did it!

Hello, we are already at the half way mark for My Creative Time April Release Sneak Peeks!  Have you enjoyed the week so far?  I know I have!  Today I get to share with you Grad Night Stamp and Die set.

I need to make several graduation cards this season so I want to keep things simple.  My plan is to do this same card with their school color for the ink blended background.

To create the background, I first heat embossed all the sentiments with white embossing powder.  After it cooled used Tim Holtz Distress Ink to ink blend, then wiped the embossed sentiments with a paper towel to brighten up the words.  Next I added the die cut hat with a pop dot to the center of the card.

MCT April Release Sneak Peek Day 1 ~ spring!

Hello, My Creative Time's April Release Sneak Peak is here!  Are you ready for Spring?  Then stick around this week for all the cute spring designs.

For my projects I'm starting off with Water Can die, which just happens to be this month's freebie (rules apply).

After die cutting the stamp on watercolor paper, I gave it a quick wash of distress ink.  For the flower centers I added Wink of Stella and Glossy Accent.  I stamped the inside with a sentiment which I forgot to take a picture.  In fact I didn't take pictures of any of the inside sentiments for my projects this week, so hopefully you will see them on my DT sister's projects.

***Sorry, I've been a bit disconnected, while we've been working on
a rental house for the last few months***

On my next project I did some ink blending to create the square background and the "plaid" on Bristol paper.  Then I die cute the stem three times and the flower three times.  When I attached the last stem, I didn't add glue to the leaves and bent them forward so they would pop up.  Baker's Twine and few sequins and it was complete.

MCT Whatever Wednesday ~ many thanks!

Hi happy Wednesday!  Today over at My Creative Time is Whatever Wednesday!  My card today has a ton of heat embossing, so if you like to get messy this is for you.  :)

First I taped off a square with painters tape and did a quick watercolor background and let dry.  Next I used a die to dry emboss the butterfly on watercolor paper.  Then I water colored the dry embossed butterfly, once it was dry I was able to fully die cut the butterfly.  Last thing was to heat emboss the bike about 6 times with silver to give it a metal look.  Also I heat embossed the butterfly with clear about 5 times.

MCT Trending Now: Stitching ~ happy birthday!

Hello, today over at My Creative Time is Trending Now: Stitching, real or faux.  Stitching on paper is on of those things that adds so much to a project.  Sometimes when I'm not happy with my card, I add just a small amount of stitching and it's just what it needs.
You know it doesn't have to be a lot to add the right amount of detail.

To create the background I heat embossed the stripes with white embossing powder, then used Distress Ink for ink blending.  The flowers and butterfly were stamped with Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers.  I added a small amount of Wink of Stella to the flower center and butterfly.  Since I used vellum for the sentiment, stitching became the perfect way to attach it, as adhesive would have shown through.
