MCT Trending Now: Stitching ~ happy birthday!

Hello, today over at My Creative Time is Trending Now: Stitching, real or faux.  Stitching on paper is on of those things that adds so much to a project.  Sometimes when I'm not happy with my card, I add just a small amount of stitching and it's just what it needs.
You know it doesn't have to be a lot to add the right amount of detail.

To create the background I heat embossed the stripes with white embossing powder, then used Distress Ink for ink blending.  The flowers and butterfly were stamped with Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers.  I added a small amount of Wink of Stella to the flower center and butterfly.  Since I used vellum for the sentiment, stitching became the perfect way to attach it, as adhesive would have shown through.

Peachy Keen Mid-month March Release Blog Hop ~ Cool Chick!

banner-for-fb_page-midmonthrelease_rvsd
Good morning!
Welcome to the March Mid-Month Release Blog Hop at Peachy Keen Stamps!

We have some super cute projects to share with you that feature additional stamps being released TODAY that go perfectly with our  Faceless Chickens and Chickie Faces that were released earlier this month.  The response to these has been outstanding, so you know this just HAD to happen!
You should have arrived here from Peachy Keen's Blog, if you’re hopping along in the set order, but if you just happened stop by to see me, then you can go back to the beginning at The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog and start from there so you don’t miss one wonderful project.
Grab your favorite beverage and relax with us for a few minutes as you take in the talents of our team, and be sure to leave comments (and a way to contact you, if you win) along the way for a chance to win all four sets in this release!  That’s right!!  One lucky person who hops and comments with us today will win all four of these sweet stamp sets!  Thanks for joining us today and ENJOY THE HOP!!!

I have two birthdays this week, one of these is for a friend and the other is for my niece.
Isn't this the cutest chicken!!!  I love him with the sunglasses, but I couldn't just stop there...I had to put his head on a wobble!

The red and white paper is actually another new stamp!  If you look closely you can that my stamping was a bit blotchy, this is only because my stamp needs to be re inked.  I thought about re stamping it, however I ended up liking that it wasn't perfect. :)

Oh and more sentiments to go with the chicks!  Tons of fun, quirky, and corny sayings!  You're going to love them!  I stamped the chick twice and cut out one of the heads and added the wobble behind just the cut head.

Since the chickens are so fun to work with I had to make another one!

Showered With Love!

Oh happy day!  Are you having a good week?  I am, being that it's a short work week!  Today I have a card that I made for a bridal shower.

I wanted something that wasn't too traditional but fun!

I added a small heart die cut, then wrote their initials, and glossy accents to give it some pizazz!

Yep, I'm still having fun using copic markers!

My Creative Time February Release Sneak Peek Day #3!

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to day 3 of My Creative Time's February Release!  I can't believe we are already half way through the release!  Oh my goodness, can you believe how awesome this release is!!!!  I'm sure I say that every month, but I can't help myself!  They are always awesome!!!

Well today we are featuring "Chunky Jar Accessories" & the "Stitched Chunky Jar Dies"! I wanted to show just how versatile these two sets is and how well it goes with previous My Creative Time releases.  So I decided to show you just how easy it is to make Project Life style journaling cards!  Aren't these super fun?!

I love that the journal lines from "Cherish This Moment" fits the Chunky Jar Die perfectly!

Personally, I don't think you can ever have too much stitching on the dies.  Even the beautiful butterfly has stitching on it!

I rarely throw away my die cuts that I don't use.  I used the other half of the vellum doily to create this journaling card!

3D Wednesday ~ Recycle ~ Conversation Starters!

Hi my paper lovin' friends!  I'm sorry this is my first post of the week.  Last week I mentioned that I was doing some redecorating around my home.  My first project...I making a slip cover for my sofa...well it's taking a bit longer than expected.  I've taken some pictures along the way, I'll be sharing soon.

As for today's project for My Creative Time, Emma asked us to make a 3D project using something that is usually tossed {packaging, tags, string or elastic, bread ties, toilet paper/towel rolls etc}.  Love anything that helps me save money and the earth!  I choose to use a toilet paper roll and make it a pocket to hold "Conversation Starter Cards".

All I did was flatten the roll and added adhesive to one end to create a pocket!
Then I just decorated it with paper, stitching, flower petal dies, and more!  I used the stamp from My Creative Time's Lots of Love stamp set.  I just love that sentiment!

I thought these "conversation cards" would be fun to ask on a date night.  We went out with another couple last weekend and used them.  Believe it or not, even after almost 28 years together we didn't alway know how each other would answer!

Up Up Up & Away ~ Card!

Happy Friday!  I'm so excited that it's the weekend, for some reason this week felt long!  Do you have any special plans this weekend?  One of my friends is turning a BIG number (I won't tell what it is, lol), so we are heading to the city for dinner.  If you live in the Bay Area, that's what you say...the city!  We are going to a place that I went to for my Senior Ball...many moons ago!  I remember it being a fun place with rainstorms, thunder and lightning.  Kind of like The Tiki Room at Disneyland.  I'm hoping it's as fun as I remember.

Anyway on to my card!  Today I made a card for a blogging friend, whose friend is very ill!  I hope this brightens her day!

MCT December Sneak Peek #3 ~ Mr & Mrs Card!

WooHoo, it's day 3 of My Creative Time's December release!  I bet you can't wait to get your hands on these beautiful stamps and dies!  You only have to wait one more day!

I've been telling you the last couple of days that this release can be used for more than Valentine's Day.  Today's card is a wedding card that is really a simple card.  However, with My Creative Time Dies and great papers it looks like so much more!

I used the Stitched Scallop Heart Die with two sided paper, then turned the center heart over to expose the other side.  It fits perfect inside the heart.
To get the over sized pearl to stay in side the flower, after rolling it, I snipped the center of the flower out.  The pearl then sits perfectly without any wobble.
