MCT October Release Sneak Peek Day 4 ~ yummy!

I can hardly believe today is already Day 4 of October Sneak Peeks for My Creative Time!  Haven't the sneaky peeks been AWESOME!!!  Well today we have two more fun sets to share with you...
Mixed Just for You  & Stitched Apron.

As soon as I saw this apron, I knew it would be so fun as a tag!  My husband and I took a drive a couple of hours away to a place known for their pies, especially now during harvest time.  This particular farm has a huge set up with craft booths, farmers market, and PIES.  You can get fresh baked or unbaked...that way you can still make your home smell WONDERFUL!

After die cutting the apron twice, I stamped the flowers and dots for the "fabric".  I quickly colored the flowers and the utensils with copic markers.  I also added white gel pen to the utensils and glossy accents to the flower centers.  Since copic markers bleeds through paper, I attached the second apron to the back and then stamped "from".  Of course I forgot to take a picture of that :)  Before I glued everything together I lightly inked the edges with Distress Ink.

We are half way through this week of sneak peeks!  Yep, that's right it's Day 3 of My Creative Time October Release Sneak Peeks!

My card is featuring the Bestie Die and of course I could just leave well enough alone...I cut up the "bestie" die to get the "best" cut.  :)  For the "to my" I masked a stamp from Friendships are Forever stamp and die set.

I simply created the background using Tim Holtz distress inks and water.  I really think distress inks make the best watercolor backgrounds!

MCT October Release Sneak Peek Day 2 ~ friend!

Wow!  Didn't you just love yesterday's sneak peeks!!!  I certainly did!  Today is Day 2 of
My Creative Time October Release Sneak Peek and I get to share the new Best Friend Background Stamp.
I tend to not think with the masses on ways to use certain stamps, and I kept with my normal MO with today's sneak peek. I made my card for a couple rather than friends. :)

I stamped the background stamp using my MISTI (which I think is a must have for large and solid stamps).  To make the "tile" I stamped my image and let dry.  Then I used VersaMark ink to coat the whole "tile", then dipped into clear embossing powder and heat embossed.  I repeated this several times to get a thick coating on my "tile".  Lastly I added some metallic thread and a rhinestone...easy peasy!

MCT October Release Sneak Peek Day 1 ~ good friends!

Whoop Whoop today is My Creative Time's October Sneak Peek Day 1!  Today's sneak peek  is packed full of friendship sentiments you're going to be crazy for!

For my cards I'm sharing with you, I used stamps from the new Friendships are Forever stamp set.

I had been wanting to try this "batik" style stamping for a while and thought this would be the
perfect stamp set to accent it.

To create the background, I stamped the solid flower stamp with versamark and heat embossed clear embossing powder.  Once it was cooled I folded the paper to give it the creases.  Next I carefully blended the inks as to not rip the paper.  I added some glossy accent dots then sprinkled fine glitter for a bit of sparkle.  I really love this look!

For the blue/green card, after creating the batik background, I used one of the oval dies.  I slipped the paper through the center of the die so it would only cut one side.  Then I did the same thing for the lower half.  When I attached the inked background pieces to my card base, I did it so they were touching on each side.  If you look closely you can see that it's actually two pieces.

MCT Scrapping The Little Things ~ happy anniversary!

Hello!  Today is Scrapping The Little Things over at My Creative Time.  Truth be told I've kind of let my scrapbooking get a bit behind, even using the pocket style albums.  :/  So I've been trying to keep at least this year up to date.  Oh...the problems of a scrapbooker!  LOL!

My pages are from my anniversary dinner, my husband has been wanting to take me to the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco for quite sometime.  He tried to get a reservation on a Friday night six weeks in advance, but it was already booked so Thursday night it was.  Yes, six weeks for a reservation!  If you're ever in the city and like prime rib, it's a must!  It's been there since the 40's!

The meat comes around on a cart and cut at your table by the chef.  If you like your meat well done, this not the place for you.  I happen to like it rare, that's one reason I printed my pictures in sepia tone.  I thought it might gross people out if they saw just how rare it was.  :)

Choosing the sepia tone of the pictures gave me the idea to go monochromatic for the whole layout.  I must let you know it does look better in person.  In the pictures it appears very dull.

MCT What A Treat Wednesday ~ give thanks!

Happy Wednesday!  Today is my day off and I'm hoping to go hang out in my craft room.  However I have so much to do, I'm not sure if it's possible.  :/  But first I need to let you know what's going on over at My Creative Time...it's What a Treat Wednesday!

So I decided to make a Thanksgiving Treat Sleeve all decked out!

It's really hard to tell on this picture that I stamped the yellow label with a "linen" stamp using VersaMark ink.  I love using that ink for a subtle background on any color!

MCT Trending Now: Color Blocking ~ thankful for you!

Hello, happy Thursday to you!  Today over at My Creative Time is our Trending Now segment.  Have you noticed that "Color Blocking" is all the rage, especially in fashion!  Typically it's using bright colors with black, but you know me I always have to twist it up.  So I went with kraft and fall colors :)

With the Chevron colors being so structured, I wanted the leaves to be super whimsical.  So I was really carefree with the embossing on the leaves.
