Episode #1 ~ Glass ornament with winter scene. Yep, I did it!

Hello!
That's right I finally did one! After 2 days and countless hours I got it uploaded. I actually had to do it twice...there's something about listening to yourself speak...I now realize that I say "um" a LOT! Um...I'm going to have to pay more attention to that, um... :)

I want to thank Nicole and Emma for giving me help on how to upload to youtube...sorry Nicole, I only mentioned Emma in the video, I realized it when I watched it back. Also, I wanted to thank Nicole for making me a button for my blog, she totally surprised me with it. She's learning how to do them and blog designs. Well I hope you like my first video, I'm not so sure I will do anymore, I'll wait and see if the mood strikes me again.

One more thing, I have received blog awards last week, I'm sorry with the holiday and this silly video, I'm way behind.  I'm going to do my best to take care of them tomorrow.  I really do appreciate them.

Enjoy!

Wow Liz, you did an awesome job ! You should definatly continue to make them !! You were great at making the steps easy to follow !! One question, because I love these ornaments and I love snowmen and have everything but the flakes on hand to make them hehehe, do you think it would be easier to put the flakes in first ? So they dont get into your sticky dots ? TFS ! I am going to make these for sure !!

Loved your video. Great job. I kinda wanna do one too but I feel the same way you did. Maybe now I will get up the nerve. Love the ornament. TFS

First off I loved your video. I have to disagree with you...I think you are a natural and never would have known it was your first if you did not say so. I made these the other day, I had saved all the plastic packaging from my cricut lite carts and it worked perfectly. I did not use glue dots to secure the plastic though....FABULOUS idea. TFS the great video, you should definetly make more.

Wow! (I can't believe that I missed this when you first posted it!) I think you did an awesome job (for real)! I wouldn't have known that was your first video if you didn't say so!

I can't wait to give this a try - it's such a cute idea. My mom wants to try it too...she lives in FL and her tree is "ocean themed," so she is thinking about putting sparkly sand in the bottom instead of snow. :)

Thanks for sharing!
p.s. I also hate filming videos when I know someone can hear me. Go figure...strangers watch it on youTube, but I don't want my husband to hear me. ;)

Now how did I ever miss this.... What an awesome video... You did such a wonderful job... AND I love your ornament... But how did you know what size to cut the plastic circle and how big to cut the trees and the adorable snowman... super super cute.

teachdanz said...

I am so glad you made this video, I never would have figured this out otherwise:-) don't give up on the videos, you did a great job!! what size did you cut the acetate out at and also the trees and snowman too? thanks!!

Joan said...

How do you measure how big to cut the circles? Also, I wish you had used a litle more light and a little closer camera. It was hard to see exactly what you were doing, but I enjoyed the video and the darling ornament. Thank you and make more.

Hi Joan, thank you for you comment! I just measured the width of the ornament, and with my gypsy subtracted .10. Example: if ornament is 2.75" then in my gypsy I cut a circle 2.65". It took me a few trys to get the size right. Also since then I've made more and found out that all ornaments are not the same size, even in the same container :/ Yes I would agree with you on the lighting, and the closeness of the camera, but this was my very first video. I've learned a lot since then, however I still "um" :) Since it's been a couple of years that I did this one, maybe I'll do another one later in the season!

You did a great job !!! It IS nerve racking to do a
video !!! I tuned in to hopefully see you make the manger ornament, but I absolutely get the idea from this one !!!
I can't WAIT to try it !!!!! Thanks, and please- do another video !!! You did FINE !!!

an easy way to get the acetate down into the ball is to wrap it around a pencil and stick the pencil in and slide the pencil out.
